Cistus - Rose of Sharon Essential Oil

Steam Distilled Cistus is considered a rare oil. The "Rose of Sharon" is probably the cistus or rock-rose. Mount Carmel abounds in the cistus. Steam distilled cistus has a strong, sweet herbaceous, musky scent. It does not smell like a traditional rose.

Cistus is also known by the name "Rock Rose" and "Labdanum"

Blending Suggestions:  spikenard, bergamot, chamomile, clary sage, cypress, helichrysum, juniper, lavender, orange, patchouli, pine, sandalwood, vetiver.

Safety:

Generally considered safe.

Skin sensitization may occur if oxidized. Old or oxidized oils should be avoided.

Storage:  Store in a dark colored bottle out of direct sunlight.
