Storax-Stacte (Liquidamber orientalis oil that is steam distilled from the resin is rare as is this solvent extracted version. It is different than Benzoin absolute also known as styrax. We feel the odor profile of this Liquidambar orientalis is much nicer than Liquidambar styraciflua (American).
Storax is deciduous tree up to 49 feet high, with a purplish grey bark and white flowers. The storax is a pathological secretion produced by pounding the bark. It hardens for form a semi-solid mass with a sweet balsamic aroma.
